I've just run an Equifax report.

Now I know I had a Bankruptcy in 2007, and that shows correctly.

However, there is a further one underneath it, that has incorrect/no details within

Pic removed wink

So I got my Credit Score, that tells me that I have 2 record(s) that indicates there is a Court Judgment(s) or other public information associated with you. This is seen as somewhat unfavourable by credit grantors. You may find credit difficult to obtain. Please review the section of your credit report entitled County Court Data . For more information about Court data and what you can do about it, click here .

Court Judgments at your previous address(es): 2

When I click on the link, it gives me the info above, but there are no details for me to contact the Court with to get this removed & they say there is only 1 against me.

confused

I've written to Equifax to ask, but wondered if anyone here could help me too please?

This is urgent, as it is affecting my ability to get a new Work Contract!!

Many thanks!

Edited as it is Equifax, not Experian - who I am still waiting on

Edited to remove picture with details on biggrin

I have no direct experience, but my understanding is that you can write to them with a Notice of Correction which is then attached to your file.

Don't forget that there is Equifax as well as Experian so you will need to query with them too.

Cheers Jon. I'm waiting on Experian to send me a PIN so I can access their stuff.

I'm just going round in circles as the County Court in Birmingham say there is only the one file against me so they can't help!

I know I can put the Notification thingy up and am working on that at the moment so there is something there in the meantime however as this is wrong, it needs to be removed

I presume you've noticed the bottom one is for "Aliosn"... maybe just a typo somewhere that has created another record?

yes That is the incorrect information.

The Court says it doesn't exist. And there is no reference Number there to trace it from.

So it is simply incorrect / erroneous entry that needs to be removed. I'd get a Notice of Correction on it as soon as possible, so that any credit search will show it. And then work with Experian to have the duplicate entry removed.

On Experian do you just go for the £15 credit check and cancel the membership straight after? Only seems to let you do a credit check if you sign up and join with a membership confused

No, you sign up for CreditExpert on Experian - it's free for the first 30 days and £5.99 a month thereafter.

Thanks Jon.

Yup. Just don't pay extra for your "Credit Score" (which they try and persuade you to add at extra cost). The report that you get is very comprehensive and completely sufficient.

You can leave before your 30 days is up and pay nothing.

Personally I kept it as I have found it useful to be notified of any change to my report as I am still financially linked to my ex-wife and want to know if there is any activity that I should be aware of.

You'll need to do a notice of corrections with all 3 credit reference agencies to get it amended.

It looks like a simple error in regards to the duplicate entry to me.

However, if you're concerned about the duplicate entry affecting your employability, it's probably not that, it's probably the original bankruptcy I'm afraid.

You are not allowed certain jobs until it is discharged (which I imagine it already has been) after you can have any job you like but employers do look at candidates credit files these days and it will remain on your credit file until 6 years after the discharge date.

Also, I wouldn't post specific detials like dates and which court on a public forum, all insolvencies are easily and publically available online and hold a suprising amount of personal data, just a heads up.

thumbup Thank you biggrin

It shows it on the record as 2 bankruptcies, only if you investigate does it show that one is clearly an error. However, I'm not sure that vetting folks can do that, hence I want it removing & am working on the Notice of Corrections.

yes I'm discharged & have the certificate biggrin But it hasn't been a problem until now, which is why I've found the error.

thumbup I thought I'd pretty much blanked out the important details, leaving enough for the error to be easily spotted & advised upon? wink

Your welcome, I'd imagine there were not that many bankruptcies in Birmingham County Court in September 2007, it wouldn't take long to find it on the insolvency register.

Your full name, occupation and address at the time will be shown.

Don't forget that there's a 3rd credit ref agency as well - CallCredit.

Is this in addition to the "all 3 credit reference agencies" that nosittap mentioned? wink

Just to clarify, there are 3 credit reference agencies, Experian, Equifax and CallCredit
