I have had my trusty TZ5 for about 3 years now and its seen plenty of service. I managed to drop it recently and have cracked/broken the LCD screen. It still takes pictures/works fine, but with no screen you are shooting blind and cant use the menus etc.

Is it worth taking it to a repair shop (any suggestions?), would it be economical to repair? or just use it as a good excuse to upgrade to the TZ30 ?

Had to replace my TZ7 screen and it cost the thick wedge of £100,

You can buy a replacement screen online for about £25 but is a very fiddly job.

BTW, I now have a TZ30, is an absolute cracker.

I have a quote to replace the LCD screen for £132 + P&P, so not economically worth it.

Upgrade here we come.....Am I correct in thinking that the batteries I have in the TZ5 are not compatible with TZ30 ?
