Hell yeah, I'll ask questions on the most PH of subjects me!

I need a new garage door as the current one is borked. The Father-in-law reckons "it just needs a bit of grease, it'll be fine", but the runners are knackered, you can only open it from the inside and yesterday it took me 15 minutes to close it securely.

Any recommendations? I'm keen to be both not rinsed and buy on recommendation.

Thanks in advance.

I'm in a smilar position at the minute. Are you looking to replace with a like for like door?

I'm assuming you have the usual up-and-over affair (which I also have) and I've decided to go for a roller door.
This means a much nicer and tighter fit to save using brushes and keeping the elements out, too. It also save space inside (which may or may not be a consideration) and you can also get insulated versions.

Here's a few of the links I found on my travels.

Current door is an up and over and would have been put in when the house was built - so about 25 years old.

Thanks for sharing the links, some are familiar as I've seen them in my Google searches too!

We got a Hormann sectional and electrified double door from The Garage Door Centre (as per your link above), had it a year or so now and very happy with it. The door is pretty thick and well insulated, and the sealing round the outside is perfect. Nice and quiet in operation too with the electric motor, probably not the cheapest but well worth it if you're in and out of the garage a lot.

These guys fitted my insulated sectional elec door, and they were hundreds cheaper than anyone else and the service was good too.
