Need a new ignition coil for Griff 500 as it's suffered a bit of spark erosion (coil lead fell off and chewed the top off!).

Any recommendations for replacement (other than standard Lickarse stuff? Where from? Price?

Is there a big difference between the Bosch coil and the Lucas one sold by Halfords?

there was a bit of a mix up with coils at the factory at one point .. some cars came out with non-electronic style coils fitted, check that it's for electronic system and you should be ok.

Bosch one works for more than 24 hours....

The problem is heat and the Lucas coils are not really upto it. The Bosch one is the most capable of surviving the temps underbonnet.

i had one biked in to me from milan to bologne whilst stranded on the autostrada...

cost
£80-00 tow
£120-00 bike
£35-00 coil (electronic type)

total 'kin expensive!

plus about 6 hrs standing around in 35degree heat.

mind you, it was a very helpful Aston Martin dealer!!

all that expensive metal lying around, and all the customers were looking at my GRIFF... ha ha

REALLY p*ssed off the manager!
