Hi

Does anyone have any ideas how I could get ipod music playing in a 2002 Boxster, which I think just basically has the basic porsche stereo system that takes CDs? Is there a way to use what I have? If not, what do people recommend getting someone to install instead?

Thanks in advance

Hi there, Dad has a 2001 Boxster S. but I believe they may have the same radio system. What we did was just buy a iPod transmitter type gadget which plugs into the bottom the iPod, programme a radio frequency, then listen to the music. We did look at having something wired in, but I believe it looked expensive.

Hope this helps.

Surf over to the thread running on here about Dension systems - I think they may work with 986 cars as well as 987/997. Otherwise, yes, a radio transmitter will work - my Motorola Hands Free doesn't even plug into the phone and works on Bluetooth. Fancy.

Best solution I found with my old boxster was a Becker Grand Prix, I think they can still be found on ebay, looks totally factory, but gives full ipod control from the head unit, plus also has blue tooth phone connection as well
