Selling a bike - best way to go about it!?

After some advice, hopefully you can help me!?
Last year I bought a fairly decent road bike. Very quickly I started to get the roadie bug using it for commuting to work/fun etc.
During the middle of this year I upgraded the whole bike from 105 to Ultegra, apart from the wheels which are Mavic Aksium. To cut a long story short it turns out the bike is a bit on the small side for me and was starting to aggravate my hip. After weighing up the options I decided to go for a whole new bike rather than just a larger frame.
So now I am left with a good road bike that I need to shift to help fund the new one. It has already been on eBay once, where it sold for £1600, but unfortunately the buyer has just pulled out.
This got me thinking, would it be better to 'break' the bike and sell the frame and components separately? I'm under no illusion that I am going to lose money - I just want to lose as little as possible.
Bike in question is a Bianchi C2C CentoStrada which is in immaculate cosmetic/mechanical condition.

its good advice though 
becuase its the sales season, people wont be looking for s/h bikes as they can get similar spec bikes new for the same money. I would assume the buyer who pulled out realised this hence their actions. Honestly, if you get much more than £1000 for it complete between now and christmas i would be surprised.
If you didnt need the cash i'd say sell the frame and forks, keep the bits and use them for a winter alu bike build on the basis that you might not want to ride the new shiny one in the winter but as it is you're going to have to take a hit on the price unless you get very lucky...
try the usual places, bike radar, road.cc etc etc stw and lgfss are also worth a try. there are so many horror stories of ebay buyers in the lounge at the moment i wouldnt ever use it.

Yes there is that option - but not really what I was asking.What I really wanted to know was had anybody sold their bikes in bits and did it bring anymore money in?
Only reason I stated the bike/groupset was so people got an idea of spec.

^^This^^ idea would appeal to me in your position, rather than risk loosing money on what sounds like a nearly new Ultegra groupset. Get yourself a bespoke frame, or at least get yourself fitted to a frame by a good LBS with a fitting service. You should end up with a great bike, that fits well and is comfortable, which will only make it easier to find the excuse for riding it. If you really have to sell, be aware that a great many bikes will be appearing for sale toward the end of the year, and wider availability of second hand bikes will increase choice and drive prices down. You'll probably have to settle for less than £1600 whichever way you sell (whole bike/parts), but I hope I'm wrong, and you get a sale at a price that keeps you happy.
i sold 2 bikes (road and mtb) on bike radar. took lots of pictures, took time and thought over the write up, priced it SENSIBLY and sold the road bike on the same day as putting the advert up (buyer drove 80 miles to pick it up on the same evening).
mtb, someone drove about 150 miles from grimsby to pick it up. was advertised for about 2 days before it sold.
neither were spectacularly amazing bikes - giant anthem x4 mtb and giant defy advanced 3 road...
