997.1 GT3 RS to 997 .1 Turbo anyone done it?
Discussion
Having just got out of a 997.1 GT3 RS its time for a new car.
A brilliant car the RS but now summer is nearly over I need 4 seats and something I can use in all weathers.
This looks decent enough, PPI notwithstanding

A few questions for anyone who has done it.
Would I miss the noise? The example above has a sports exhaust which I would need to listen to I guess, my RS had a Europipe fitted which could awaken the dead.
Can they handle the miles, this ones had a few things replaced but anything expensive likely to be needed anytime soon?
Does it still give the Sunday morning thrill you get in the RS, there is no doubt that it's a fantastic car but is there anything missing?
Will have a drive of one and see but wnated to see if anyone had made the switch?

Hello,
I haven't done this switch but i have had a 997 Turbo Gen 1.
Porsche do not sell a sports exhaust for the Turbo. The listing is stating it has warranty on it, but my understanding was anything non Porsche would void the warranty, if the warranty is from Porsche. So best to check this and also what sort of sports exhaust is on the Turbo.
If you bought a Turbo standard you are going to miss the sound a lot. The turbo is a fantastic car, but was easy to handle and drive fast, there is no drama.

Prepare for the GT3 v Turbo fight!
That looks like a good Porsche turbo you have spotted! I think the warranty is not a Porsche one and if it was its definitely been invalidated with the remap and sports exhaust.
I suggest having a test drive in that one, and looks like maybe able to knock a few pounds off for a cash buyer?
Though the number of owners is high, its not usual - anyway lots of people to ask to confirm Provenance.
In terms of sound europipe have got the different porsche videos .. so take your pick ... http://www.europipe.be/europipe_porsche_exhausts_v...
