Not really feeling the Xbox3d stuff to be honest but probably because I am having a really hard time working out how this will work\look exactly, however I hadn't heard about the resurgence of VR headsets and it looks like Sony, Google and a few other players are all developing kit which is really exciting news.
VR headsets seemed to be set to be all the rage about 15 years ago and then all of a sudden, seemed to die a quick unexplained death and I've always wondered why as it seems the perfect technology to complement the new push into 3d and it will stop all the wife want's to watch tv, my room isn't big enough for a huge telly arguments stone dead. Can't wait to see where they go with this.

Disagree about gimmickry. I'd absolutely love a room where the walls were able to display imagery, across their entire surface, and once things like digital paper come online properly, it ought to be possible, not only for immersive gaming, but also for living in an aquarium, or a summer meadow.
Will be brilliant. Now that MS have a US Patent, I guess we shouldn't expect immersive views of Cupertino any time soon?

This room projection technology could be cool, but you're going to need a dark room with white walls to really get the best out of it, much like a projector.
