I've got a few jobs to do on my 964 - RS lightweight clutch and flywheel, ECU chip, cat bypass and primary bypass.

Obviously the old clutch can go in the bin, and its easy to keep the old ECU chip, but the flywheel only has 30k miles, and the cat and the primary silencer are in good shape.

Keep them for the next owner, or give them the heave-ho and start planning the interior refurb? 'm not planning on selling anytime soon.

I always kept my old parts. The older the cars get, the more people will want standard. Unless it's a total RS rep with no sunroof, welded in cage etc, which is never going to be reverted to standard.

It does become a hassle finding space for everything but it's probably best to. Infact I've just remembered I still have a 3.8RS replica rear wing in my dads garage. Oops! smile

Agree that you should keep the old parts. Admittedly they end up taking up room in the garage but it does give a potential next owner the possibility of restoring the car back to originality if they want.

Must admit that I would also be more inclined to purchase a car off someone if they kept their old historic parts. So it can only put you in a good light if you do sell.

Also be interested on your thoughts on the cat bypass etc. May be one of the jobs that we tackle next year on my wife's 964.

I've got the g-pipe on it for the last couple of years. The power is the same but it sounds nice. It was a 15 minute job and only a few pounds. Sine I am changing a few things this time around I will refit the secondary and lose the cat and the primary, that way I will have the sound *and* some extra bhp.

I agree with your comments about the old parts, so I will have to find a little space!

That'll be noisy. My C2 has factory decat and PSE which removes the secondary silencer only, and I wouldn't want it any louder.

I've heard a 964 with the primary silencer deleted/decat/G pipe, and thought it was defintely noisier than my car.

Maybe our definition of what's noisy is different!

The OP didnt suggest he was going to delete all 3

He said he was going to change from a G pipe to a cup pipe

Look like it to me, and he never mentioned a cup pipe:

I quote,

"I will refit the secondary and lose the cat and the primary"

So, delete G pipe and fit cup pipe

For the avoidance of doubt ;-)

I presently have a g-pipe and no other mods.
My plan is to refit the secondary silencer (ie remove g-pipe), and then fit a cat bypass, primary bypass, LWF and 98-octane ECU chip.

I reckon the db will be slightly louder, power will be slightly up, and it will be a bit more revvy.
