Hi Troops,

Looking for some local input here. When I drive from south to north over the forth bridge this mystifies me every time. On the bank to the left of the bridge, directly behind the new offices for the new forth bridge. There is demolition work going on, there has been uncovered an area of what look like thousands of acro props that seem to be holding up the hillside.

I can't work out what they are, educated guess would say they are piled foundations under a raft but I can't see any indication of how a building would have sat there, but what else could they be for. For anybody interested drive past the new bridge offices on the low road into rosyth port, it's quite a sight.

If anybody knows please enlighten me as I'd love to get mt head round it.

Many thanks

Andy

Could well be what's left of the large fuel storage area that was there when Rosyth was an active naval port.

There was a pretty extensive covered fuel dump in that location (if I'm understanding you correctly).

Thanks very much Rockatansky, that is exactly the bit. Coming from a building background I just couldn't work out what it was. Think I'm going to and have a good mosey round this at the weekend.

Thanks again,
