You should know , you owned one.
Nice to meet you Linsday at the Classic Speedfair ,I was in the older White 996 Gt3 Mk1
Nice driving as always Ade, he must have been sick of you outbraking him and getting right up his rear end...

indeed we were constantly monitoring the transmission temps.. half a dozen laps per session were enough to see it creeping up.. the gtr was being pedalled by a race driver though!

GTR is significantly quicker in a straight line, its weight can be an issue for track work although the brakes are pretty mighty, many are over to alcons for additional retardation.

Usual story for a GTR on track without expensive extra tranny coolers. 7 minutes and all done , back to the garage for a 45 minutes cool down !!!!

Good vid though , just shows the extra weight of the GTR in the corners but the almighty power of the engine.

I wonder how much it would cost to make it lighter?

£10k is the price for the trackpack - and whilst that makes it about 7 grams lighter it does not include a tranny cooler , roll cage , harnesses or any additional power

go figure

Well it is wry hard to extract extra power out the gtr. Maybe Nissan simply couldn't manage it?
