Hello,

I am having some work done on the house and will be loosing the garage for about 3 months. The 996t will have be left on the drive during the work and i want to get a decent cover for it. I have seen one called a stormforce for about £150.
has anyone used these and what do you think? or are there better covers out there? any info helpful and i know its probably been covered before on here, cheers

had 2 fully tailored covers from the above.. quite thick material to help prevent knocks.. not cheap, but probably not most expensive either!

Have a look on e-bay. I got a genuine Porsche indoor cover for a good price. Lots of out door ones also up on there.

I bought a prestige indoor cover from these guys, very nice quality and fitted perfectly. Bought at Autosports show and got a nice discount too.

Have used covers from both companies. Stormforce covers are merely; the material is cheap (apparently multi-layered) and is simply not in the same league as the fleece-lined stretch cover which I sourced from Specialised Covers for about £100 more.

It is the best £250 I've spent and has kept my car in pristine condition since May last year. You did say it's a temporary requirement though, whereas my car has to live outside all of the time where only the best option would suffice.

I know it's stating the obvious but you get what you pay for.

I'm seriously considering upgrading my cover to one from Specialisedcovers.

What is the main difference between the Prestige and Prestige lite? I know the Prestige has a thicker fleece, but i'm wondering how that is better. I would have thought the thinner cover would be more breathable.

Just make sure that you get a breathable cover which also has some form of locking device to stop it flying off when the wind gets up. +1 for specialised covers BTW.

I have a 'soft' interior cover from these people, very good. I then put the Porsche factory cover over that..... But now bought a house with a garage.....

Mine will be in the garage, but at certain times of the year I can get condensation in the garage - especially with rapid temperature changes when i open the door.

I have an outdoor one from Classic Additions for a 996 Turbo / GT2 which was the company suggested to me when I bought the car. It is still in the box and cost about £160 from memory.

I've sold the GT2 so of you fancy a deal it drop me a pm
