Thoughts on Instagram?

Hello.

I am just wondering what the experts on pistonheads think of this app. I personally carry my iPhone around daily and if something is worth snapping, I do - I do not edit it vastly on Instagram, just enhance it to bring out some detail that the original photo lost. I also do not use the app on every photo I have. I will provide some examples or shots of my work tomorrow.

What are your thoughts?

Instagram, making your £500 phone camera look like a £2 disposable...

Like any tool, keeping it subtle is the key. That and not taking photos of your food.

For edditing my mobile shots I prefer Snapseed, but it is down to personal preference.

I love it. It's just for fun, I take photos everyday for a living so its a great escape. To take it seriously and care about it is to miss the point of it, I think.

I don't see why people seem to get so offended by instagram... Don't like it? Don't use it.

I use it for sharing pics to Facebook and other places. I rarely use the filters but sometimes they can be useful.

I like it, I don't get to use my camera nearly enough yet I always have my iPhone on me, image quality doesn't translate to larger screen particularly well but I enjoy making my snaps come to life.

I've found myself wishing for Instagram settings when it comes to editing pictures from my real camera as well
