Please can anyone tell me why I occasionally get USB input MP3 tracks fast-forwarding by about 1-2 seconds? There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, just occasionally a track will fast forwards a second or two. Play the track again and it won't do it.

I believe it's called "Hip Hop"

I don't notice it when listening to Jay-Z so you could be right.

I have used a filled to capacity 32 Gb stick drive in my 991 since May and have not experienced the skipping you mention. Have you tried a different USB drive? Probably the easiest thing to check first.

No, but I will. I was in the car 3 hours yesterday and no skipping.

These are good - unbelievably small so very neat in the glove box:

I just can't believe the PCM doesn't recognise the track numbers and plays everything alphabetically - insane! So a lot of file renaming going on here....

The same USB stick I use in my 2012 Porsche Cayman infotainment + Bose system if used in my other car shows all the albums in alphabetical order on the screen it plays the tracks by number and also shows the album cover on the screen,If only the Porsche system would do the same,It is terrible to navigate around and try to find albums and tracks.
Is it any easier using an Iphone ( I would consider buying one)or is the phone just as bad to navigate as the USB.

PCM works just as you would wish with an ipod (except for display of album art) but not with usb stick. Get an old ipod for £50 from amazon. Album art now available on new 991 models. So the Porsche system does do the same. Just not yours (or mine, or anyone elses except recipients of new 2013 991s).

The 13 cars have had a few little tweaks haven't they. I wonder what has been done to the car that cannot so easily be identified.

Hi Manks. Very little I would imagine, other than eliminating the various early adopter teething problems (front seal, AC, sunroof rattle, PDK update etc).

My seat has developed an intermittent grinding noise which I can see is two bits of plastic trim rubbing against eachother. It appeared around the time I realised I have gone up another waist size. Hopefully it just needs greasing... the seat, I mean, not my waistline...

The doors. The doors fit properly now.

You might be right but I am guessing there will be a number of things they have sorted out. By the feel of my 13 car relative to my 12, I think the lads down the factory got a new socket set for Christmas. I did have one or two initial gremlins with the 13 but they seem to have disappeared as the car has worn in.

Thanks, yes it is.

The new one feels like it's been put together properly and it is absolutely beautiful to drive. I would go as far as to say that (save for the lack of DAB) it is perfect.

Is DAB on the horizon or are Porsche just ignoring it?

I note all 2013 m/y VW sold in the UK now have it fitted as standard:

has yours got full postcode search?

from Nov production, PCM comes with 10,000 song juke box as well. Plus rev matching for manual transmission too.

BnB,thanks for the tip about the ipod,I have never owned or used an ipod will the car keep the ipod charged or will I have to charge it on a regular basis.
All the music on my USB sticks are mp3 will it simply be a case of transferring it to the ipod.
Will any ipod fit the cars connector.
