2 posts in one night,I'm on a roll!
I have a Cannondale SL4 with Helix 6 disc brakes,now I've done about 70 odd miles and the back brake sort of went off. It lost its bite and I'm unable to lock up the back wheel (I dont intend on doing this on purpose but I expected the brakes to be able to do this quite easily).I tried putting the front pads in the back and the back pads in the front (stupid idea I know) to see if it made a difference and now both brakes are the same!!! seems like they might be contaminted maybe? I've seen on the internet that some people recommend doing strange things to bring life back into the pads (sanding them with sand paper,heating them over a flame and even putting them in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 mins!).
Also I better clean the discs,would cleaning the discs with nail varnish remover be a good idea?
