The topic for this month will be HOME. I'm looking for photos taken around the home, of the home, the feeling of home ... you get the idea.

Remember, this is the 'Challenge', so shots must be taken in September and specifically for the challenge.

As usual, the rules:
The photos taken must be your own work
The shot MUST be taken this month, with the closing date being midnight on the last day of the Challenge month
The exif must be posted with your shot
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month
The Challenge for next month should be generic, as not everyone has access to zoom, macro, specialist lenses. It should be shots that everyone is capable of achieving with the bare essentials.
There will be two threads that need starting: The Entries thread to commence same time as Discussion thread. In the Entries thread only one picture should be entered. Any others you wish to discuss should be posted in the Discussion thread.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered should be no bigger than 750 pixels wide for a landscape photo and 600 pixels high for a portrait photo. Some people still have black and white tellies, and use these stupid 3G phone things for browsing the interweb. Links to larger versions are permissible.

Let's see some creativity and remember - have fun!

Low number of entries again (has the challenge run its course?) but still good quality.

As a father there really only could be one winner this month ...

What you get when you hound pics out of the thread because they dont meet your exact & specific interpretation of the theme.

The reason I questioned your entry was nothing to do with your interpretation, if I remember correctly it was purely because the shot was taken before I set the theme. The challenge was set up by Neil specifically to get people to take a photo to fit the theme and not use one from the back catalogue.

Sorry for any misunderstanding. beer

I suspect I've missed a bone of contention here somewhere, but I don't think you can argue about narrowness of perception for October, so get shooting! biggrin

Hm I thought the rules just stated it had to be shot in the month, which it was.

I don't think you're the first to be caught out by that, from memory George was pulled up as well at least. That was why I highlighted the relevant part in the rules above.
