Hello all
I have water getting into my car from the drivers side door (RH drive). When it rains heavily the water is sat on top of the seal which runs along the sill, next to the bonnet release housing, below the door. The water then tracks under the carpet. I think it may be tracking down the inside of the door but as yet have not found any water coming through the door membrane. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks. Jim

Get a new seal , you dont want water getting under the seat and blowing the electrics. Very expensive

When my parents were driving their 06 Boxster in heavy rain they discovered the carpet round the Bottom of the door was wet. Dad mentioned to the OPC last week at warranty renewal and they diagnosed defective aluminium plates just in front of the doors. (I assume they deflect spray/water feom round the wheel arch) The plates were covered by the warranty, but even at OPC prices the cost would have 'only' a few hundred pounds, if the car wasn't under warranty.
Good luck.

Probably the door membrane .
If the car is a 986 boxster they are of the foam type and stick to the door behind the door trim to deflect the water coming down inside the door.
If the car is a 987 they are a total differnt design , they are a large metal plate the size of the door with a foam beaded seal around the inner edge , the seal rots away at the bottom and lets the water through onto the sill top and carpet.
986 ones are around £49 for parts and the 987 one is £120-£130 for parts.
