Anyone know of any companies that offer truck driving experiences in Scotland (as in artic not monster).

My dad has wanted to try driving one for as long as I can remember and given his birthday is approaching I thought I would try and get something organised but they all seem to be down south.

Thanks

Stupid question

Have you tried HGV driving schools?

Reasonable question if you don't want the expense of having to get a medical, provisional licence etc just for a mess about.

Wonder if any of the schools have a yard big enough where you could have a go off-road?

could be an ideal business opportunity for knockhill, as long as it fits under the beatsons bridge wink become a truckie for the day, will have to add extra grease to the fry ups in the clubhouse. could make it the full blown experience, drive truck, have heart attack inducing fryup and to add extra authenticity using a suitably caged car the challenge is to get within 10mm of the car's rear bumper without hitting it

I had a look a while ago, closest I could find was Yorkshire. frown
Here's the link - http://www.trackdays.co.uk/driving_experience/elvi...

The best one I found was Manby in Lincolnshire, again, another long trek - http://www.manbymotorplex.com/res_web_directory.as...

There must be a market for this in Scotland, even if it's just doing what the Yorkshire one does & letting people drive the car transporter at a Supercar experience day.

Thinfourth - Not tried HGV schools. Assumed they wouldn't be interested in someone turning up for one-off. Correct me if I am wrong.

Alangla - thanks for that. Did you follow up either of those, if so would you recommend it?

Looks like there is an amphibious lorry experience in Dundee - not quite what I was after though.

Google "Scania Driving Experience Newbridge". I'm not sure what they do, they might be what you want.
