Planet X N2A or Canyon ultimate

Looking to upgrade my bike, current is planet x sl pro with dura ace group set.

Ideally want to swap running gear over as in decent nick and bloody expensive!

Anybody got any thoughts/experiences on either of planet x or canyon offerings.

Short list planet x nanolight or N2A (N2a probably) -700/800 ish, intergrated seat post

Canyon ultimate - 850 ish including stem and seat post.

Both look awesome.

was out with a friend who has an Ultimate CF yesterday and yes it looked stunning. most noticeably was the way it picked up speed very quickly and he isnt a big thighed monster capable of pushing out big power figures, it was the first time i have followed someone and really been able to see the benefits of a high end frame. he wasnt in much discomfort after 101 miles either so it must be reasonably forgiving.

no experience of the N2A, looked at it earlier in the year but decided it was too racey for what I wanted.

Heard rumours on weightweenies that the production N2A is 300g heavier than originally stated on the P-X website...

Not sure if they're substantiated, but IMHO you can't beat Canyon for VFM !

Proven tour level frame? Or cycle to work brand? Hmmm tough one. Canyon all the way.

You could say that about the boardman bikes et al but the brownlee brothers see to be petty quick. TT's are full of Planet X bikes too.

I get you point though, but on checking up there are now frames in stock as I guess the 2013 range soon to be available, probably a whole heap more expensive.

Never ridden the Boardman ones, but they have been ridden by World Tour teams too, so I suspect the top end ones are decent.

TT's are full of Planet X bikes because they are cheap, the same reason you see so many on the roads, you can get a good spec for £1000.

I see what you're saying, but I don't think I'd want to put down this level of money on a Planet X, not when the alternative is a proven top class frame.

I might try and find a planet x frame for my training bike, as I'm sure they're decent, just wouldn't want to spend that amount on one

Between those two it would have to be the Canyon.
Have a good look at some of the reviews on that bike, you'll be looking a long time before you find a negative one!
Its been on the pro-tour with various teams for the last few seasons now, so is well proven.

Either way, Canyon every day. Can't wait for mine to arrive
