Inner Tubes (both MTB and Road)?

Morning avid cyclists,

Having just got back into MTB I had forgotten how quickly one can go through inner tubes, so my question is which ones do you buy? I see that Wiggle have a sale on tubes and tyres today so I thought it would be rude not to purchase a stock.
(Also which ones do you use for road?)

Sub question, are there any recommendations on tyres? I feel that the tyres supplied on my new bike are a little on the thin side (Specialized Rockhopper).

Whatever is on offer TBH. I've tried various lightweight ones and slime filled ones, and TBH, I didn't find them worth the extra for me. I don't race any more and only pedal for fun.

I did see the slime filled ones, wasn't too sure about them, they didn't exist last time I was buying.

Are the two I have narrowed it down to.

Purely out of habit, I used to use Conti or Schwalbe tubes. BUT, the removable valve cores (easily sorted, I know...) have caught me/friends out on more than one occasion (usually by the roadside!), so as good as they've been, I'll be reverting to Vittoria and/or Specialized.

BTW this is for road and MTB. Although for DH stuff, I run Maxxis or Michelin DH tubes...
