Hi all,

I need advise if possible i have a set of 10Jx18" and 8.5Jx18" Cup 3 alloy wheels with a few scuffs (only surface) which i have advertised for £400.
They are stamped "Cup 3" and "Made in Italy".

A potential buyer has asked are they genuine which i assume to be factory original. How can i tell and how important is this, also will it affect the value and is my asking price about right?

Thanks in advance,

Keith.

Is the withe & offset shown by the valve hole?
Pics of the valve & the stamps on the inside of the wheels will let us answer with some form of accuracy, but genrally a car of that age would have a part number stamped on the inside of one the spokes.

Cheers.

Cup 3s, aka "Turbo Twists", are often replicas made by Mille Miglia. I believe even the Porsche originals do not have the offset and width cast into the rim either side of the valve as they do on many other designs. The only clue as to their origins might be the existence of a Porsche part number cast into the inside of the wheel. Check at http://www.944racing.de/felgengewichte.php for reference.

Regards

Dave

Much appreciated guys.

They are stamped "Made in Italy" so apparently made by Mille Miglia and quite rare nowadays.

If any use to anyone here please let me know.

Thanks again,

Keith.
