Price to replace my rear wheel?

So, tried to go for a ride this morning only to find some fking scum bag has stolen my rear wheel. It's in the bike shed for our (6) flats. There ae about 6-7 bikes in there, mine is the only one with things missing. Normally I run the cable through both wheels and the frame, last time I mis-routed it and missed the rear wheel. It'll be ok says I.

Ok so mine is more expensive than the others (it's a Trek 6000) but there was a Kona in there with only the frame locked and nothing missing off that.

Any idea how much it is to replace them? They are Bontrager rims.

You'd probably struggle to find an exact replacement for that particular wheel. The bontrager rim will be an OEM part and I doubt it'll be available from the usual suspects e.g. CRC, wiggle, merlin etc.

You may find someone flogging a set on ebay after upgrading, the wheels will be at best mid-range anyway as its one of the places the big manufacturers save money when speccing a bike.

If you're not bothered about the front and rear matching then just check out CRC etc for rear wheels, make sure its got a disc hub, its 26 inch and standard QR. Some shimano hubs take centrelock discs rather than the standard 6 bolt like most other manufacturers.

And disc rotor, tyre and tube - I'll let you google them the choices are endless. Your rotor will probably be 160 mm.

Thanks for the tips chaps.

Calmed down a bit now. Will not be storing my bike in the shed anymore. It will live in our stair well. Only 4 flats that use it and i will explain if anyone has any issues.

Ordered the bits from Merlin in the end. £130 - tyre and tube which a mate at work is donating.

Went for Shimano MT15 wheels in the end + direct replacement for the cartridge and disc.

What have you got? I need a bog standard ordinary set of MTB wheels (suitable for rim brakes) and maybe a 7 speed cassette for a frame I'm building up. Anything going? The cheaper the better as long as they run true! Also on the lookout for a 30.9 seatpost and 35 clamp (or is it 34.9?)
