XH558! Nice to to see her flying again, but a shame shes had her reins pulled in. Now being flown like a gentleman drives a nice classic.

She came in low and played peekaboo!

And when I say low, I mean it!

And did a couple of laps of honour, will try and get them editing tomorrow, she was about a mile away so edits will be a little tricky.

Then left right over my head, barely 200 feet above me!

I saw that the other day doing some fancy stuff near here. It's usually just Easyjets that fly over, so it took a little while to figure out it wasn't a small Boeing. Judging by the smoke it needed the air filter blowing out

A place called Little Gransden, just outside Gamblingay. A blink and you miss it type place.

Had her reins pulled in? Not the case at RIAT or Eastbourne recently!!

I was with a Swiss display team when she performed at RIAT & they were stunned at the way such an old aircraft was being thrown around the sky.

All 8 of them watched the Friday & Saturday display in awe of such a magnificent machine & everyone applauded when she landed.

I also know that all 8 pilots i was with made a bee line for her on Saturday afternoon after her performance as none of them had seen her fly before the Friday - neither had i - & none of them could quite get their heads around the way she was flown.

The impression i got was that she probably has only this year & next year left before her flying days are finally over so the pilots are going to enjoy flying her while they can.

Martin Withers flew her in on the Friday at RIAT - he put on a fabulous display.

Have you seen the footage of 558 at Eastbourne last week - the film taken from the top of Beechy Head looking down on her?

Awesome piece of film. Turn your volume up loud..........

Flew over my house (about 2 miles from RAf Cranwell) this afternoon heading northwest-ish followed 5 mins later by a loan Spitfire I think.
