Ive had my 2006 997 turbo for a few weeks now - epic car and all that ....but.....I just feel that its got so much more to give - its quick - but i feel that its , how do I put it, held back/stifled/muted/civilised . Im seriously thinking about the DMS peformance upgrade and exhaust to unleash its full potential . Anyone have experience of this ?? ......does anyone else feel the same ?? This is my 5th 911 so I know a bit about them hence Im not a newbie .

Thoughts and opinion ?? Cheers Barry

Your 997T feels 'held back'?

I would get it checked if I were you!

I have had my 2007 Turbo for a few months and was disappointed with the sound so purchased sports exhaust with quad tail pipes and am very happy with result. I am looking at getting it remapped very soon as they are great cars standard but I feel needs livening up a bit !

Bought mine, 09/09, 4 months back with 8500 miles (daily driver) now done 14500. Had it 2 weeks, DMS exhaust fitted with lovely large quad outlet pipes, remapped, dropped an inch or so, spacers fitted, suspension set up, it now Looks, goes and sounds as it should have done straight out of the showroom.....

And 26mpg average over last 6000 miles, I did say it was a daily drive..

Impressive, did it not affect your warranty ?

It may be just outwith the OPC warranty (??) ...My car is still under wwarranty but Im seriously considering it as I'll only do 2-3000 miles per year and I really want the car the way I think it should be .

No, car is out of warranty now and amazingly has not imploded yet. Hate the idea of Porsche telling me what I can and cant do to my car to keep their warranty. With over 100K miles in several well looked after water cooled 911 Turbo's, each to their own of course but 'I' have never had an issue that would change my mind regarding paying for this type of insurance and no I am not touching wood and I do walk under ladders too. All IMveryHO of course.

I purchased a Kline stainless exhaust from Top Gear in Bridport and the quad tail pipes from 911 DesignTec, looks and sounds great. This is how they should have looked and sounded out of the box....

Yes agreed with that - any idea of the cost of other sports exhausts mentioned here?

Just interested and no I dont want to pick a fight but I have heard the 997's with the variable vane turbos dont take too kindly to more boost. Is this an internet myth or fact?

Just needs noise fella, all turbo's are too muffled, apart from the GT2 but even that could do with a bit more sound

Rhino , please do let me know how you get on .... Been thinking seriously abut this . Crimp , I totally agree coming from a C4S with PSE the turbo in that department is an utter disappointment - either a full system on the DMS treatment is afoot !
