Registering a Peugeot 205 mi16 in Germany
Discussion
Hi,
I take it you want to bring it over from the UK? The golden rule is : is everything already in the UK papers? Ie. the new power/capacity/engine no# (preferably) I'd also mean any adjustments made to the suspension, brakes etc etc etc. Do you still have all the receipts? And all the papers from the manufacturer stating all the stuff is EC approved, safe etc.?
If not : you've a world of pain ahead of you. Everything will have to be approved on a case by case basis. And Germans are thorough. If yes : you might stand a chance of it being a bit easier.
Talk to somebody who's done it (I haven't, I know some people who've done it and they've lost years of their life due to it) and then decide if it's worth the hassle.

Many thanks for the reply, I may even buy a UK car and take it back once a year for the MOT. Seems much easier. I take it you want to bring it over from the UK? It will be. If you're planning to use in on the 'Ring though, be sure you have the insurance in place.
A bit of a superfluous statement - after all, it's only the UK that has Nurburgring issues. Everyone else can pitch up at the Ring, pay their money & drive on. No ambiguity, no mystery, you're covered!
