So no wider than the C2S then?

Other than the tacky red neon strip on the boot I can't see any difference from the C2S. And what's with the centre grill? Looks plasticky and Focus like.

I'm pretty underwhelmed. I still remember seeing a 996 C4S being tested on the roads in the hills of Stuttgart in 2001 (I was working there at the time). I went straight to the OPC and ordered one, on looks alone it blew me away.

Hmmm. I'm sure they'll still sell millions of 'em though.

Am I right in assuming the front 'grille' blob is the active cruise control unit... I was speccing a 991S today (dreaming rather at 116k all in) and saw this as an option. Doesn't work with the powerkit tho.

There is something about the 991, and I can't put my finger on what, that makes me think of an AM V8V.

The model aside, this trend towards 1970's brown is a poor choice, there were lots of good things back in the 70's but this was not one of them.

I know there was a brief hisory between Porsche and the colour brown, I'm not 100% sure but I think Steve McQeen had a brown Porsche and even he could not make it look cool.

The 991 911 has been re-positioned at a different market/audience.

I can see that too. Probably the dark metallic, chrome trim and big wheels. But if I wanted an Aston, I'd buy one. Can't see why they would want to make a Porsche look like an Aston (or drive like one, come to think of it).

Porsche can be guilty at times of disappointing lapses in quality, but you'd hope for the launch of a new model they would bother to put the badges on straight.

I would say that you are right and you probably cant have it with the powerkit as there is a central radiator/oil cooler with the powerkit

Why would it be? Are you suggesting that there should be 3 widths?

You do if you can't see it. The Carrera 4 badge slopes left to right.

The 991 is a stunning looking machine and an amazingly rapid way of covering any given distance.

I still think a base 3.4 C2 with very limited options makes a sensible buy at around £75k.

Can't wait to see the Turbo now.

And then the GT3.

Not looking to change the 997 but just know it will get me in the end...

Worryingly, I quite like the brown.
