The guy who's supposed to be buying my Prelude is having severe problems getting sensibly priced insurance. The car is a 1993K 2.0i with induction kit and stainless exhaust.

He is a non-uk national, 25yr old, living and working in the UK and the Prelude would be his 1st car. Main sticking point with the insurers (apart from fast 1st car / young person) is that he has an international driving licence, rather than a UK one.

Cheapest quote from the usual suspects is £2200 which is more than £600 than the price of the car. I'm keen to help because if he can't get cover for £1500 or less, he can't afford the car and I'd have to re-advertise.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try www.confused.com - one of those rare websites that actually seems to work for you. You fill in all the usual on-line insurance form questions (who are you? Where do you live? What colour socks are you wearing?) and they submit it to around 20 (?) different insurers. You then get an e-mail listing all the quotes, including naming and shaming the companies who don't want to talk to you.

Before you ask - no I've got no interest in this site other than I saved myself a couple of hundred quid by using it!
