Anyone know how adjust the lights on a new generation MY 2012 ML so they are suitable for driving on the continent?

Does it have the Intelligent lighting system?

On my C-Class with ILS (so may be different on your ML.) You change it over on the menu in the instruments screen via the steering wheel controls.

I just stick on a set of headlamp beam deflectors (£2.50 on eBay) and take them off on the train/ferry coming back.

To add to the above, afte the AA man telling me that about xenons, the went on to say "if you're really bothered, park the car infront of a wall with the lights on and adjust the beam using tapes on the headlights."

The car didnt have xenons fitted (a bit poor for a 50k car) so ended up just putting the lights on the lowest setting. Visibility was really really crap though...

On our MY08 you reach behind the headlight for 2 spring steel tags poking out and rotate them around the back of the headlight about 10 degrees. This switches from UK to EU.
