Just to let you know I'll be missing out on the next few events & probably won't be able to plan the Lakes Invasion run as well as I'd like.

I'm heading into Hospital tommorrow for an operation (now that effeciency - I only went this morning) and will be "rest-ridden" for a couple of weeks. I'll see how I'm on the 23rd but I'd suggest I won't be making it.

I'm not sure you're interested or too bothered (and don't want a "look at me, celebrate me" type of thread) but there you go.

Stefan, hope all goes well for you.
Dare we ask what you are having removed/added/enlarged?
Or would that be none of my business.

If you're not fit enough to drive on the Lakes meet, I can offer you the first ride in the Marcos (MOT is now this friday, but all is well).
Just wipe your feet before you come in.....

Make sure the Doc doesn't get his thumbs trapped in the bricks!

Get well soon.

Just getting something sorted which has been plaguing me off and on for 4 years now, simple operation but it takes time to heal due to the location and the procedure.

Thats for the offer of a ride, but I'm certain I'll be back on the roads by the 4th (it's well over 2 weeks away), it's just getting over there to plan the route / get the stops sorted which will be a bugger.

Gee, I'm going to be knocked out tommorrow, how bloody terrifying! Oh well, see you on the other side if I don't make it back in time tonight to come back on.

Hope everything goes OK, mate. (And comes back OK, too!) Shout if there's anything you need.

I just can't imagine how much time you'll spend on PH when you're housebound and bored.

I'm betting that if you use BUPA - your bed will be faster than Bomb's T350! He'll probably go for one of them next - then he can snooze as he drives!

What goes: Z-Z-z-z-z-z- BANG! Z-Z-z-z-z?

"Bomb"on a drive-by shooting!

I've just been told I shouldn't drive the car for at least 4-6 weeks, the empahsis been on the later time.

Bollocks. Bugger. Arse. Bar-steward

If they'd bloody well told me that I wouldn't have had the operation at all.

Lakes 4th is off completely for me (can we re-arrange for early October?) and unfortunately it looks like Croft is off for me as well. How perfectly typical. I thought this was meant to help me not hinder me for 6 bloody weeks!

I feel for you Stefan and can empathise, I couldn't drive for 6 weeks after a back operation when I was 19 (a ban that was rigorously enforced by my super protective mother). Anyway, hope you're on the mend and back in the seat soon enough - gutted about the lakes though, was looking forward to it. Must go, off to sunny Portugal for 10 days. Enjoy the hurricanes.....

I'm sure there'd be a few passenger seats going spare if you're stuck.

Depends on the nature of the surgery, though. I couldn't in good concience let you attempt to get in and out of the Elise if you've just had surgery on your back or knees, for example!

I hate hospitals - I tend to see them at the worst possible moment, like just when the wound re-opens depoists lots of bloody all over the sodding place. Sigh.

I'm told this is "normal".
