My wallet was itching until I checked the stock.

I'm struggling to find a bike I prefer, hopefully pricing will be similar for the 2013 models.

Seems a bit daft to sell out all your stock now and have two months with nothing when you have people still wanting to order!!

Not the best business model if you ask me and they are potentially loosing out on a fair bit of money!

Why on earth would anyone part with decent money and not have ridden the bike?

2 years ago I tested a Trek EX8 and a Ghost AMR 5700 round the car park of the respective shops and bought the Ghost. Whoopsie totally wrong geometry for me, sold it for £725 lost just over £1000 in 18 months.

Spent £60 demoing Orange 5 and Orange Alpine 160 round Whites Level and bought the 5, perfect bike for me,m would never buy a bike without trying it.

Cost.

For a £800 bike the spec on the 6.0 is impressive. If it didn't work out you could probably flog it for minimal loss, or move the components to a frame that suited you and sell the frame.

I am so tempted to go for a Nerve AM 8.0x, just finding it really hard to justify the cost at the moment having bought a new (to me) car a month ago. I think my £300 Carrera mountain bike will have to suffice at the moment !

Even better than that, you can send it back to Canyon if you don't like it! (not sure if this applies to sale bikes so don't blame me if it doesn't!).

I tried various bikes to work out what I was looking for, basically a FS XC around 120mm travel, then saw the Canyon Nerve was winning all sorts of tests in that segment quite convincingly. I was nervous about buying mail order but it was knowing I could send it back worst case that persuaded me to go for it and I'm glad I did. Nothing else I had previously tried for the same money came remotely close to the Canyon I ended up with.

Took advantage of this nearly 2 weeks ago.

Got myself a Torque FRX 6.0 Speedzone, its a monster! Bike was reduced to £1581 and it was £1626 deliverd in the bike box.

Funnily enough, I thought that last year. The bikes were going like hot cakes - and there was then a long wait for the new stock. Some people will look elsewere - but because of the super value and equipment of the Canyons - I waited.

Annoyingly i'll probably end up doing the same because I cant find a bike in that price range that comes equipped with 105, quality wheel set and carbon fork. I've got the money burning a hole in my pocket and I can't spend it!!!

Think that bit proved why a test ride at the LBS doesn't help in the slightest, so no reason at all not to buy without a test ride.

OK I am biased as I have a Canyon and would (and do) recommend them to anyone who asks. Also, as mentioned above, they have a 30 day returns policy so long as you have kept the bike relatively clean. They have a very good only measuring system too.

In fact I think I may be the opposite. I rode my old bike around the LBS car park. Bought the Canyon a year or so later without a test ride and noticed a massive improvement in riding in all areas - comfort/speed/confidence etc.
