Roof probs 2003 CLK cab

Hi chaps, our 2003 CLK 320 has temperamental roof probs. In the morning when you start the engine the roll over headrest switch lights are on, the roof light is on & doesn't work & also the windows wont operate. After driving for 10 mins or so the headrest lights flash then go out, the roof then works & also the windows.

Once its working its then fine for the rest of the day, stop, start the car, leave the roof up or down & its fine, everything works. The following morning we have the same problem.

On hot days we've noticed it all starts working quicker, sometimes after a minute or so, on colder days it could take 20-30 minutes or so.

I wouldn't have thought its a micro switch as once its working it stays working, bumpy roads etc have no affect, is there anything that has to build pressure or come up to temp before it can operate the roof?

All i can say is good luck with sorting that problem out which i know is no help !
You really need to get it plugged in on the diagnostics to see what current or stored faults are in the roof control module. Just take it to your Mercedes dealer or Mercedes specialist who should have the necessary Star/Xentry diagnostic equipment to see whats going on.

Will do, I was hoping it was a common & easy fault to sort but lets take it in & see.
