Afternoon all

Could anyone please tell me what the 997.1 GT3 came with as standard and what options were available?

I know the basic difference is clubsport (which came with buckets and a roll cage) and comfort (which had standard seats and no roll cage) but did both come with sat nav as an option?

What are the other differences between the two?

Thanks in advance

Don't think a roll cage was standard on the club sport cars. You need to go to the RS for that. Standard kit on a 2007 "comfort" models includes air con, central locking, Porsche tracker, electric windows, single disc CD player with FM/AM radio, trip computer, adjustable suspension, sport mode for the throttle mapping and exhaust valve, and switchable traction control. Seat adjustment is part electric and part manual. Steering wheel is alcantara trimmed. The common options are sat nav, sports chrono pack, xenon lights, multi-adjustable sports seats (can't remember the proper name for these), leather steering wheel, etc. You could also spec things like PCCB, cruise, sunroof (!), heated seats, and all manner of carbon fibre and interior trim and colour options. I don't think you could get memory settings for the seats in the UK, but this was available in other markets. So a RHD car with this fitted is an import or maybe some sort of special order. As far as I know, all of these specs and options were the same on the club sport cars (with the exception of the seat related stuff of course).

Applying the `Clubsport` name in front of a GT3/RS or GT2 normally means the car is factory prepped for track use. This varies slightly between various renditions but includes roll cage (rear section) and harness for driver.

Although 996 GT3/RS versions had limited selection of options available the 997 GT3/RS was offered with a shed load of options. For example the addition of sat-nav, PCCB brakes, additional leather trim, improved headlight system, uprated stereo, cruise control and tyre pressure monitoring amongst others. Purist maintain that the RS versions should be lightweight stripped out racers but quite a few of us specced the cars so that we could tour Europe and do track days. Some cars can only cope with touring or track days. Porsches can happily spend a day on track and then tootle off to the local supermarket with minimal fuss.

Thanks for your replies guys.

Is the suspension and chassis settings the same on the GT3 clubsport and comfort?
It's just the options that are different right?

Mmmm interesting - is "browing" a new phenomena undertaken only by software engineers, or can we all learn how to do it? tongue out
