Guglielmi Goes Racing
Former Tuscan Champ tries his hand in the TVRCC series
Former Tuscan Challenge champion Steve Guglielmi is to be reunited with a TVR race car for the first time since winning the TVR Tuscan Challenge in 2002.
Guglielmi has agreed to guest drive the TMS Griffith in the double header event to he held at Rockingham on 29th August.
With the growing interest in the series Steve's appearance is sure to attract more TVR owners to Rockingham for what should be a great day of racing.

This should be fun to see, The TMS Griff currently runs in Class Q so has a more powerfull modified engine than the class B Griff of Simon Bowes, But the Class B car has more modified suspension.
It should be an interesting fight for the Flag win as Rockingham needs power on the oval part and handling on the infield..
It will also be interesting to see how the Class B turbo tasmins run as they should be able to streatch their legs on the banking but may be a bit twitchey and laggy on the infield.
For us Class A runners its a case of keep your foot in and hang on through the infield and then pry you dont loose much on the banking. that 100 bhp difference is really going to show.
mind you unless we get the fuelling problems sorted on my car they will be showing the white flag ( slow moving car on circuit) as i go around.. now im not bad but there is a limit to what you can do with 85bhp the guy on the rolling road hasnt stopped since we took it there last week.
I now have a large pile of k-jetronic fuel injection bits overflowing from the bin...

Great news, but don't be suprised if most of the "new" spectators are ladies, he's a "babe" magnet according to my other half
Good luck Steve if your watching these posts, what handicap are they giving you, have you got to tow a caravan or are they just going to blindfold you
Just bought one of my Tuscan racers back, 27 car, thought we might do a round or two of the Challenge before it finishes the season, as It may be the last chance.
If you decide to do more of these races, let us know and we might come and join you for with you out in front, it may be a good idea to have some of us older, slower Ex TVR Tuscan racers at least we'll still be with the rest of the pack

Will be great to see Steve G in the paddock though.. sure to attract a crowd, he's thoroughly likeable fellow,
I hope if he ends up waaay out in front he'll put a slideways show on for the crowd, that'd be great fun
If simon mason is in a Taz again that should be a good battle between the two simons and steve, the rest of us might as well not race, just watch the spectacle .. lol..

How come your power figures keep getting lower Graham? .. at Brands you only had 125 bhp or summink but the car was only marginally slower on the straight than ours with 165bhp .. lmao!!! Methinks your guy needs his rollers recalibrating ...
The 85 bhp was the peak on the lap when the engine started dying and i went from 1st to last it came back up a bit after that one lap. The fueling was all over the place and inconsistant.
the speeds on the straight we down to corner entry and exit speeds, i nearly hit the back of cliff on several occassions i must tell him the places he dosent need to brake at Brands...
I reckon if i could have got past at paddock or druids i'd have managed to stay ahead but even if i got past at clearways ther was no way i could hold him up the start straight... even with higher exit speed he had me in about 2-3 car lengths...
Rockingham should be a laugh though, last time i went there i had 5 cylinders......
Cheers
G
p.s. when you comming out to play

Cliff hasn't got any brakes .. I rigged the brake lights up to a switch on the dash
A better laugh would be to wire the brake light switch to a horn
Good to hear Steve Guglielmi is coming out to play, if only for 1 race.
When i first read the title i thought, " how the mighty have fallen".
Hope to be able to come along.
Sorry G,
I was having to use the brakes a lot more in the race cos of the defensive corner entry lines. If I hadn't a bl**dy pink taz would have made a dive up the inside
We were running well off the pace we were capable of but the priority was keepin you behind and settling for 3rd in class. Didn't want a repeat of Snett where we lost the place much too easily. As it turned out (with a bit of good luck for us and misfortune for John Sumner) we made 2nd and were fairly happy with that.
