C220 CDI quality

Picked up a C220 CDI BlueEfficiency Sport for the wife last week. Back in the shop today! Drove the car a bit a noticed some rattle/clunk from the front right suspension. Failed driver side shock absorber. I made sure they are replacing both shock absorbers on the front axle.

It's a 2010 with 18k miles on it. Now a shock absorber should not fail at 18k miles. Any other problems/issues with those cars?

Unfortunately you don't know how (un)sympathetically it has been driven.

Perhaps stiff sports suspension + low profile tyres with no give + increasing amount of speed humps around + terrible potholed roads = early suspension failure!
