Seperate Chassis Sports car

Bit of a strange question I know but what oldish(50's onwards) sports car has a seperate chassis that the body forms no part in the cars regitity, apart fron a spitfire,gt6 etc?

Somewhat pedantic I know but with most Lotus cars (Elan etc) the chassis is technically a subframe and I'm pretty sure the rigidity of the car is based on both it and the strength of the body...

You say apart from Spitty/GT6 - the body is structural on these. If you ever see one with the sills gone you'll notice they sag in the middle.

What's your point? The Spitfire/GT6 still has a separate chassis, it just happens to also have structural sills in place of the outriggers on the Herald/Vitesse. 6 bolts, a few pipes and 4 blokes and you can easily show that they have separate chassis!

Didn't the OP ask for cars with a separate chassis AND the body not forming part of the car's rigidity?

Sprite was 50s and monocoque, MGB early 60s monocoque.
