S2000 stereo question

Thinking of upgrading the honda satndard stereo for an alpine or such like to go with the alpine 6 disc changer but was wandering whether by doing this would i now not be able to use the controls on the right of the steering wheel to operate the head unit?
Also any suggestions as to what speaker upgrades there are and can you fit ones behind the seats?
I am not interested in amps or such just a quality all around sound.
