diagnostics 993TT
Discussion
Does anyone know if the diagnostics on a 993TT and 993TTS are any different.
I ask because my car was factory built with different oil coolers and a factory mod to take it to S spec. chip etc , cant recall the actual part no and due to moving location I have to get a new dealer. The major one 300kms away, seems to give me very generic comments on any enquiries on the phone and I dont feel confident they know much about my car. Every solution seems to be throw away old parts and replace whole systems, I have had this with the air conditioning , which turned out to be a leak and $100 re gas and tacho , which turned out to only be a intermittent connection issue.
The car has only done 75,000kms and has always been main dealer serviced and pampered , so even though its getting older should not need stuff replacing
I am now considering finding and taking it to more of a porsche motorsport specialist. My old dealer is 900kms away so hence the change.
if anyone knows of a good knowledgable and capable specialist near Northern New South Wales , Or Gold coast Queensland or even Brisbane , i would love your input .
I also wanted to have a second set of wheels for my car and have been offered
7,5 x 18 ET50
9 x 18 ET52 of a GT3
Does anyone know if they will fit?

Both 993tt and tts are OBD2 diagnostic compliant, so a compatible reader should not need to distinguish between the two.
As for wheels, I think those offered to you are 996 or Boxster specs, not 993, despite the 993 prefix for the part number. All 993 fronts are 8x18 ET52, with the rears being 10x18 ET65 (narrow body) or ET40 (wide body). So not sure whether you could make the 'wrong' ones fit with spacers.

Im just wondering if in diagnostic mode and I have no experience, if dealers just download errors and reset as a part of a service and if the reset takes it from an eprom or something or takes it from a config file and wondering if they load a 993TT config instead of my factory modified car that requires 993TTS config.
Or I may just be speculating and talking rubbish?? It my years technology that gets my brain working to hard on how this work. The car runs fine but had been sluggish and didnt feel like it was boosting post service. its done 75k from new, the dealer has been responding with very vanilla , replace every things and basic reset inputs no intelligent analysis per say.
When the car went to the dealer main dealer with motorsport/race experience with 993TT , it allays seems to feel more raw and runs better , very subjective but there you go.
When it goes to the show pony dealer, all gloss no knowledge i feel, the techs just seem to go through, swap if in doubt mode , flush , reboot and replace approach and it doesnt seem to want to stretch its legs when I drive it hard.
I would go back to the old dealer but its a 1800km roundtrip journey.
The wheels are from a GT3 996
Thanks for your input Steve
