Hi there

Would anyone be up for a Porsche ONLY rolling road day for PH and 911uk members if I was to organise it? Location would be Powerstation in Tewkesbury which uses a Mahaa dyno so ideal to get accurate flywheel figures and works for RWD, 4WD and auto vehicles too.

Would be thinking around October time, cost £35 each to run, say about upto 20 cars, 9am start, about 2pm finish, then off to pub for some lunch and good chit chat about cars, results etc.

So anyone up for it?

If the response is good I shall get it sorted and organised for a Saturday in October. smile

£700 for 5 hours? Is that not a bit steep?

Its £35 each if more than 10 run.

I would imagine the cost of a dyno, maintenance, operators wages etc. does not come cheap, people have to make a living. smile

Surely a bit pointless unless you have engine mods though.

I've always ran my cars, whether stock or modified, if stock I like to know my car is making the power it should be or there abouts. smile

How much cheaper than £35 quid a run do you reckon is fair?

Thats three of us so far.

Get enough interest in this thread I shall make a new thread with date etc. Ideally needs a minimum of 10 cars running. People welcome to just come and spectate too and enjoy the drive and pub food afterwards. smile

Unit 11 did this once a 4/5 years ago when they had an open morning (free bacon butties & brews etc), using the dyno at TDi North just opposite them and it went well - £30 a go I think so £35 sounds fair. I took a 993 C4S (it's a 4WD dyno) which from being spec'd at 285bhp came out at 283.7, not bad for a standard car with 104,000 miles.

They drummed up support for the day with the local TIPEC group - might be worth trying that or PCGB if you want to increase numbers (tip: if 10 say they'll be coming, be thankful if more than 6 turn up i.e. aim for 20 or more). If it happens to coincide with the Club Championship awards do at the Hilton Puckrup Hall (in Tewkesbury) then I may join you, but otherwise it's too far for me thanks. smile

Hi m8

What is the date for the Hilton Puckrup awards, as could be the ideal date. smile

27th October, don't do it on that date on my account - I may need to be in a different car entirely (would only know the day before).
