Yep, the new Bentley is going to have 740 lb/ft of torque, according to an article in today's Autocar.

That's some twist action (said the actress to the bishop!). I know it's gonna be a heavyweight (about 2000kg), but I for one can't wait to read the roadtests.

Seems the transmissions on the prototypes have been having trouble coping....hardly suprising really, as that will make the Benters the most torquey car on sale. At least until the new Bugatti arrives.

Finally got a couple of decent pictures in the mag too.

Those torque figures begger belief! They have to get some truck components in there to cope with the torque methinks. Still not sure on the looks though, too much like an Audi A6 to be a Bentley. I'm not sure it would have the same kind of road presence as the more luxurious Bentley tourers but as with anything it would have to be seen in the flesh to be judged properly.

I too will pass judgement on the styling until I see it in the flesh. For me, the weakest aspect is the front - looks very much like an MG ZT!!!!!!

However, the cold weather testing photos indicate it's got good road-presence. However, these photos also indicate that the car sports Pug 307 stylie quarter-lights in the windows!
