MGA Restoration
Discussion
Just thought you may be interested in some pics.
Car is owned by a close friend who kindly allows me to enjoy it. Mechanically the car was sound but the body was last restored in 1990 and the body had never been off the chassis. Once stripdown began it was obvious that a complete restoration was in order. All work has been carried out by a pro but I've stipped/cleaned/repainted all the suspension ready for refitting to save some costs. Car has just been started today and should be in for MOT by the end of the week.

Very very nice, apart from the wrong wheels.
Not to everyone's taste I'll agree. Its been on Minilites for quite a few years now although we have the original steel wheels. I think they add a little masculinity. I really think they look wrong on wires for some reason. Thats the great thing about wheels though, they're easily changed to suit personal preference. I'd take the steels over wires every time. My favourite MGA wheels are the centre lock twin cam steels. This car is 3 or 4 owners and has been with its current owner for 16 years and has an enormous history file. Engine and box are the originals. Bodywork has been carried out by Body Beautiful Cars in Bridgnorth and the results are stunning in the flesh, I really can't recommend them enough.
