off for a day out in hertfordshire tomorrow , any recommendations for a decent pub lunch ?

I've never had a bad meal at the Wicked Lady at Wheathampstead. Decor is a bit shiny though. Decent "pub" pubs in St Michael's area of St Albans.

Isn't that Cambridgeshire? Just over the county border near Royston?

If you find yourself a bit further south The Crooked Chimney near Welwyn Garden City is pretty good, I've stopped off there before. Can't help with that far north though, sorry.

Oddly enough we saw that pub & thought it looked ok but carried on as you do , we ended up having lunch at the Sun inn @ Lemsford village , very nice it was too

Theres a nice pub in barrington (cant think of its name, opposite the village green) the 10 mins from melbourn. I grew up in melbourn, the pubs in the village are st!

Spent many a night pickled by the Sun. Grew up five minutes round the corner.

Was really nice & the Ultimate burger was terrific , i suppose costing a cockle it should be
