Does anyone still shoot film? I was rummaging through a cupboard earlier and have rediscovered my Minolta Dynax 7. It had a cheap 28-300 Sigma lens on it so I grabbed a 50mm prime off eBay for £65. I have a load of different film in the freezer and thought I would go back to basics - having to think about composition rather than twisting a dial and the anticipation of whether the shot came out or not.

I sold my DSLR a while back (Dynax 7D) and all its associated gubbins and bought a bridge camera instead - a situation that is about to change with the purchase of a Nikon D5100 kit but I may as well use the film camera alongside while I still can.

Yup - haven't for a while though. I have a Canon A1 with a 50mm 1.8 and a gorgeous 85m 1.2 that I picked up for a song a few years back when an acquaintance was switching his entire studio to digital. Think the lot cost me 150 quid. (Motor winder included too).

The 85mm was worth more than that alone.

I tend to use slide film in it for colour stuff (Velvia or Provia) or good old Ilford for B&W as I really just experiment and play with it. Tis good fun.

eta - you've reminded me actually, I want to get a flash gun as I don't *believe* my Sigma DG 500 (which I use on my 1D) is compatible. Happy for someone to prove me wrong, though.
