Why would you ever want to go to Benidorm?

It was hell when it was popular, and apparently now is suffering in these bad times.

We rented an apartment in parque santiago V (5) last year. Was pretty good, with some nice pools. Get your towel down early though.

Its important to know if you are on a budget, and what sort of nightlife you are after.

If you do go, do visit the water park!

Atleast if you go to Benidorm every holiday after it will be an improvement.
Tenerifes nice. Usually guaranteed weather all year round.
Can be done via travel agents if you want the no hassle or by booking it yourself to save some money through Ryanair and then a hotel site.
If you have a budget put it up. What kind of holiday you are after wether it is to relax, chill on the beach, go wild of a night.

(Don't go Benidorm)

I don't like Tenerife at all, my wifes family have a villa out there which I can use for free and I still don't go and I wouldn't go to Benidorm if you paid me.

If this is your first trip abroad I would advise choosing elsewhere, Cyprus or Greece are much nicer places to visit.

I like Tenerife (Playa/Los Christianos)it's got a lot better in recent years.
Try OT beach, Teletext, Travel Republic etc as well as the normal ones

Have you thought about Turkey ? Icmeler & Side are nice & I fancy going to Olu Deniz next.

Don't go to Benidorm. I went there for the day once, as a joke. It wasn't funny.

Try Jardines de Nivaria in Costa Adeje.

There is a decent go kart track by Los Christianos, pretty sure its used for Spanish Go karting champoinships etc

Lots of fun and when I went there was a full grid of about 30-35 there. I started last and finished 2nd. You wont be bothered about that, but I had to throw it in!

Just today I got back from a break in Spain with my girlfriend (our first holiday) and we stayed at my parents house in Gran Alicante. It's not a big party place or anything but it's fantastic. Good bars (open late) amazing resteraunts, great weather too!

A couple years ago we thought we'd go for a drive to benidorm when we were over. What a dive, if you nano to be embarrassed to be British, go there!

I'd recommend the likes of gran Alicante, el altet, Santa pola etc. nice places and about 15 minutes away from Alicante.

Why don't you go to fethiye in turkey? I went there years ago late season. It was cheap and i had a great time. A rental scooter is of course mandatory and there are loads of good places to explore. You can also drive through oludeniz and follow the coast road, there are loads of quiet beaches and places to see. Of course without a scooter you won't see anything, but I don't understand people that go on holiday and don't rent transport anyway, wherever you go you should do that.
Post your budget and you'll get some more ideas.

Agreed - Fethiye/ Olu Deniz are lovely and perfect for a young couple who want a fairly quiet/ relaxing break!

(Don't agree renting transport is a must though - you can see plenty using public transport when required! smile)
