MTB brakes, a couple of questions

I have the original pads in my Cube with Ryde Stroker brakes and they feel like they are loosing thier edge a bit.

Any suggestions as to what pad to go for? seems to be alsorts avaiable on ebay & I have never bought a set before (light offroad use, I avoid the wet muddy stuff at the mo, just forest & road use)

Also I have 2 sets of wheels, on & off road, running different style rotors, is it okay to keep the same pads in for both sets? Or should you really keep a set of pads for each wheelset?

I have been using Superstar own brand pads for about a year and found them excellent, no squeaking, no fade, good braking power.

Swapping between rota's should not be a big issue as long as they are both aligned, I would imagine you will get brake rub from one of the sets though. Before fitting them rough them up with a bit of emery cloth, and clean the surface of the rotas with brake cleaner or petrol. Then once you have fitted them ride a few hundred yds with the brakes on as hard as you can, then stop and pour cold water over the rotas and pads - helps bed them in!

Me too on the superstar pads - wouldn't look anywhere else for what they cost!

i use EBC pads, they wear out pretty quickly, especially in certain weather/trail conditions but they do stop the bike fairly effectively....

Another vote here for Superstar pads.

Fitted some kevlar pads from them a couple of weeks ago and they are simply immense. 4 sets for £25 I think. Bargain.
