Let me in there!!!!
Amazing to see at the Olympics that exotic gear is what is necessary. 400mm F2.8 that gives sharp images at F2.8, nothing less will do. Not to mention the response of the 1 series cameras.
Did see a couple of Nikons as theyt start to get some following at this highest end of the Pro field but it's still looking like Canon are still number 1.

At Beijing it was wall to wall Nikon D3s.
Nikon must've bunged 'em a bit of money then! Seriously I have no affiliation and was a Nikon user. I take great exception to their extended menus now though, overcomplicating the business of finding settings that on Canon SLRs are easy to find. They (Nikon) also stayed locked in a 12 mp world for a long, long time as well as waiting years behind Canon before entering the full frame arena.
It does appear they have some great products at the top end for high iso performance now.
Just my observation yesterday: couple of Nikons in the press bay near me, the rest all Canon.
