I am looking at finding my way back not biking and have found myself drawn towards a CUBE AIM Disc, so I went my local dealer to go and have a ride on one to find out that he has just ordered the 2013 ones and has no 2012 Disc left in stock.
Problem is he has no details on it, pricing, spec list etc. there is pretty limited stock of the 2012 Aim about but there are some, I'm just hoping that it's not a lower spec/higher price than the 2012 version.
He has taken my details and will be calling me as soon as its in stock (approx 10 days) so that I can go and have a ride on it.
He has ordered the Red/Grey version but ideally I'd prefer the white/red version as my current Carrera (ahem) is Matt black/Silver.
I just hope that it's not a disappointment after a wait orid have ordered a disc one from somewhere today :/

mid august is very early for 2013 stock, i would be surprised if he will have them in stock for a while yet and might just keep you hanging. you would be better to keep looking for 2012 stuff which will be reduced soon.....
That's what I was worried about, I'll give him the week or so he claimed then might just have to start looking for clearance stuff, might even get the same (2012) bike for a bit of a discount. €499 at bike-discount for a 2012 bike with free delivery

I agree with Pablo. You should definitely keep an eye out for some 2012 bargains. I don't recall what the Aim retails for but I would imagine that you be able to get either a Ltd Pro or Ltd Race for a similar price.Back in 2010 I got my Ltd Race for just over a grand. As soon as the 2011 models came out it was down at £800.
The Attention it the best value in thier sub £1000 hardtail range IMHO.
I have a '11 Analoge disk, and friends have the '12 Attention & Acid, given the new prices the Attention is the best value (although I got my '11 last year for £350)

Yeah, you'll only depress me! I got mine on cycle to work scheme so didn't pay quite as much as it retailed for.Good bike though with decent kit although for the type of riding I do, a full sus bike would suit me better.

So on the back of that and the fact that I am getting impatient and want a new bike i've read (American) reviews and it would appear that they have downgraded the frame and components and that the 2012 model would appear to be a better bet.
My local Specialized dealer (SOuthdowns bikes) are doing it the same price as others at £549 but are also offering 10% worth of accessories with it almost making the bike sub £500.
Does anyone have one of these models - i'd look like i'd change the pedals for starters on it by the looks of it.

The 2013 models will likely be out about October I would guess, so, if you are ready to get one, I'd go for it now and make the most of the last of the decent-ish weather.
I recently changed the pedals on mine to some Superstar Nanotech ones and they are excellent.

If you are now going down the Specialized route, it's worth knowing that they have released their 2013 range and as a result the 2012 bikes are already being offered at lower prices... Hargroves have a red ticket sale on 2012 Specialized bikes.

Thanks, I've been to Hargroves but they didn't have the Cube in stock... Going to have to have another chat with them I think. Went to my local Specialized dealer and they don't have any stock of the 2012 Rockhopper so offered me a Comp for £575.

Hargroves are good, but only if you go into the store. Their phone and email service is utterly piss poor.
Having said that - I live within easy distance of 3 of their stores, and work across the road from another. A mate was looking for a Cube Attention. The 3 near me all said that they didn't have any in stock over the whole network, a quick visit to the other branch there were 3 on the shop floor alone.
I bought my LTD Race from them last year, and they're still willing to help out - I was going for a ride on Saturday but my front brake was binding. I took it in to their Millbrook store, and the shop boy said there were no mechanics available, but the deputy manager grabbed it off me, spent a good half an hour tinkering and eventually sorted it out. He also put some more air in my fork - all for free.
