Pocket camera problem

I have a little Leica D-Lux 2 and it seems to have developed a strange problem.

I haven't used it for about a year, so charged up the battery. But now when the camera is turned off, it keeps switching itself on... Repeatedly. It stays off for maybe 3 minutes or so, then turns on.

Peculiar.

I guess some kind of software problem that's impossible to diagnose, however somebody here might know.

There's a technical term for this... it's fked.

Seriously, the New Nikon D800 had a somewhat similar problem and there was a firmware fix... might be worth surfing the Leica site?

Sounds like a power save mode but back to front!

I will have a hunt around for a firmware update.... Or maybe try simply reinstalling what's already there.
