Higher flight prices - Summer next year ?

I did an initial search for flights for next summer from a few websites & they all seemed to be a third to double more than a year or 2 ago (Scotland airports to anywhere in Spain/Turkey/Portugal etc) could it be initially high to catch those in the Holiday spirt or will they just go up from now on ?

Comparing data from 2010 or 11 with prospective 2013 pricing is futile.

Departure tax, fuel-duty surcharge, anti-terrorism insurance, VAT @ 20% etc have all had an effect on base pricing.

And we all know the vagaries of airline pricing and discounting policies regarding both early and late booking strategies have no known comparable.

All good points & but you still do though !

I'll keep an eye on prices for a few Months, £500 + to Cyprus is getting on for US prices.

Flight to London & then out somewhere may be a better option.
