Voice recognition in 5 series Y2000
Discussion
I have a 5 series 535 sport year 2000. I've had the car 18 months now but only just noticed on the steering wheel I have a voice button thingy. I have the comms pack in the car, i.e Phone/sat Nav/Tfaff master etc.
I cant find my original manual for the car since moving house and wondered does anyone know how this works. When i press it i can talk to it but it always replies back to me saying nothing found etc.
Any help appreciated!
Thanks

If you go into a dealer they should be able to let you have a manual / copy the relevent pages (the voice controls are similar for E39/E46 models up to current). I don't have mine now so from memory :
Some to get you started
Press button, wait for beep :
"Petrol Stations at current location" (look at the sat nav map)
"Dial Number"...speak number "dial"
"Record Note" - leave yourself a reminder
"Read notepad" - listen to your mesages
"Store Name" - store name & number for future phonebook use
"Dial Name" - retrieves stored names/numbers
"Cancel" / "Correction" - when she fails to understand you
