Hi all,

can anyone recommend an alloy wheel refurb specialist in herts? I'm based in Potters Bar.

Had a puncture and needed the car so took to my local kwik fit and not only was the puncture on the outside edge meaning a new tyre (original tyre was almost new), but Kwik fit barstewards have destroyed my alloy. They don't really give a feck, apparently the fitter said these things happen. Going to see manager on Monday and have emailed head office with pics. We'll see.

how much roughly would I be looking at refurbing one wheel. Damage is a couple of gauges and a scratch around the rim.

Really hacked off, my alloys where in perfect condition and I was planning on keeping it that way.

Cheers
Matt

I can vouch for prestine, just had a set done, and had other done in the past, superb quality and service, and their tyre fitting machine is something else, well worth the journey IMHO

This happened to me once where a garage messed up my perfect Z4 alloys when putting on new tyres. They offered to refurb the affected wheels for me, but even that was not ideal as it was a slightly different shade of silver to the rest, so i had to get the front 2 done again.

There is no excuse - poor workmanship. I have never been back to the garage since. Make sure you get your money back

Another for Letchworth Diamond Wheels, they refurbed my Winter wheels and changed the colour to Anthracite, they did a very good job.

Cheers Guys, I'll ring round for quotes.

Andy - I emailed kwikfitwebcare@kwik-fit.com on Saturday, my details are on the scanned copy of my receipt.

I'll be forwarding the bill. Car is also going into Seat today to check the dodgy tracking after Kiwk fit "checked & adjusted" it. I like to look after my car so allowed Kwik fit to check and adjust the tracking. Silly me, it now pulls to the left when I steered straight! Will forward the tracking report once I have it.

Lesson learnt!

Still haven't had a reply.

Car came back from Seat today. They've fixed the job Kwik Fit gave to the blind fella that adjusted the tracking.

Can't believe their technicians are so cr4p at their jobs! Screwed both jobs up - 1 guy changed the tyre and destroyed the rim, 1 guy checked that guys work and another guy adjusted the tracking. It's akin to me taking my car into the local playschool and getting them to do the work.

No scrub that, a couple of under 3 year olds probably would have been more competent.
